Born in Illinois and raised in Pasadena California, Gloria Scharre Pitzer attended Pasadena City College and received an A.A. in 1972, California State Polytechnic University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 1974, and Loyola Marymount University where she graduated magna cum laude in 1978 with a Juris Doctorate degree.

As a partner of Palermo, Barbaro, Chinen & Pitzer, Ms. Pitzer’s areas of practice include estate planning, trust administration, probate, conservatorships and mediation. She is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, through the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. Pitzer has served as court-appointed counsel and expert in numerous matters.

A trusted participant in the legal community, Ms. Pitzer is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (Former Executive Committee, Probate and Trust Section), Pasadena Bar Association (Secretary, 1990-1991; Trustee 2012-; Vice President, Pasadena Lawyer Referral and Information Service, 1997-1998), San Gabriel Valley Estate Planning Counsel (Trustee), and the State Bar of California.

Ms. Pitzer is involved in many community activities and has served as board member and board chair of the University Club of Pasadena, Union Station Homeless Services, Pasadena Community Foundation, Pasadena Child Health Foundation, Pasadena Quarterbacks Club, Hemophilia Foundation of Southern CA and the Huntington Hospital Planned Giving Counsel. She has also served several terms as Senior Warden of the Vestry of All Saints Episcopal Church.

She enjoys skiing, football, the Dodgers and singing in her church choir.
